A new dating service, Rendezvous, allows users to browse dates instead of browsing profiles.

It was founded on the idea that people spend too much time on their phones, rather than meeting new people face to face.
It’s slogan is “Going on a Great Date Can be Hard, We Make it Easy”.
The company aims at making it easier with technology for users to go out and meet new people.
Rendezvous users are able to browse dates in their area which have already been scheduled during times in which they are free.
The users will then select the dates they wish to go on and if the interest is mutual, they have bagged themselves a date.
Rendezvous has stated that it is aiming to follow author Aziz Ansari from the book Modern Romance by facilitating dates. The author stated in his book: “We’re better off spending quality time getting to know actual people than spending hours with our devices”.
Therefore, users do not have profiles like on other traditional dating services, but can browse actual dates based on their date’s time, location and partner information.
Rendezvous’ aim is for its users to result in having more time meeting people and less time aimlessly messaging.
The app is one of a number of new platforms seeking to shift the focus of online dating away from messaging and towards human interaction.
